If you’re interested in the art and science of Radio and are searching for more ways to enjoy the absolute best of hobbies – Amateur (Ham) Radio -- then make plans to attend the annual W9DYV Radio Symposium this January 23rd! Held in conjunction with the St Louis and Suburban Radio Club’s Winterfest, the W9DYV Symposium offers a broad range of topics and this year touches most all interests: vintage radio collecting and restoration, radio theory, RTTY and code-based technology, and important contributions by Green Bank Observatory personnel.
Known as the “Quiet Zone, West Virginia’s Green Bank Observatory is home to the Nation’s most advanced terrestrial-based radio-telescope and research facility. Amateur Radio plays an important role as many of the Observatory’s scientists and technical personnel got their start as Ham ops. Young people considering a career in engineering should attend.
More information about upcoming Symposium forums and Winterfest can be found here and at the St. Louis and Suburban Radio Club’s https://winterfest.slsrc.org/ This is an outstanding all-indoor hamfest for both seasoned Hams and newcomers alike. Don’t miss out.
